Are the cables that came with my STIs "low-friction"?
I've seen this term on cables and was wondering what it is? Is it just a prestretched cable with a teflon coat? Are the cables that came with my STIs "low friction"? They are starting to unravel at the ends making me think that they are not???

The cables that came with your STI's are as good as any. If the ends are unraveling they should have had terminal crimps installed. This can still be done if they haven't unraveled too far.
