What Dura Ace Shifter Do I Have?
My rear derailleur cable frayed inside the shifter housing and I don't know how to disassemble it.
If you pull the brake lever, a small jeweler type screw is exposed at the top of the shifter. I removed this small screw which allowed me to remove a small plastic cover about 1/2 by 1/2 inch. Under this cover is a larger Phillips head screw which I removed, however, this doesn't seem to allow me to remove the shifter. There is another small jeweler screw in here, but I can't believe that it is big enough to be holding the shifter on; I would think the force from pulling the brake lever would be to much for this to be any kind of structural screw but I could be wrong.
The components are probably 5-6 years old, it came on the bike when I bought it second hand. Any help on identification/disassembly would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like 9sp, although bear in mind that first faceplate is actually stamped metal, not plastic. Either way, the shifter is held on by a 4 or 5mm allen head bolt. You can access it through a little slot on the outer side of the body. Insert the allen wrench between the rubber hood and the plastic body to get to it. Pulling back the hoods will also help.
