Kona Blast at a yard sale
This bike was posted on CL and is gonna be at a yard sale this weekend i suppose. It's the Ford Focus edition Kona Blast. It needs a little work, and basic maintenance, but i was wondering if the bike is worth anything, or is it a piece of crap? I got a few pictures, and i'm thinking it's worth at least the $75 they are asking. Please tell me if its a good bike or if i should pass it up.

i can do the maintenance, but i dont want it to be on a garbage bike. it seems like the brakes are worth the $75. i'm gonna go look at it tomorrow evening.

bump. anyone else have any input? i'm going to look at it today. if it's not what i'm expecting, or is just crap, is there anyway to swap the brakes and other components to my Giant Rincon? i know thats a very vague question, but i'm still new and clueless.
thanks.

If you're sitting on the parts to fix it it's a decent flip candidate, but if you have to lay out more $ I'd pass.

I'd try to talk them down some but only because I'm a total cheapskate at garage sales and the like. Aside from needing a new chain and maybe cables/housing, it doesn't appear that the bike needs anything. There's some surface rust on some fasteners but that's typical. Worst case, you end up with a bunch of good used parts like a wheelset and front fork. If it was at a local garage sale, I'd buy that for $75 any day. I'd be even happier if I walked away with it for $40 though

well, i do plan to shoot low with an offer. i'll give them the "it needs this, and this, and it's entry level..."
maybe i can grab it for less. if they won't budge on price, i'll pass it up. i'm very curious about putting the disks on my giant though.

I didn't say they were worth much but as spares or for another project they'll do the job.
