Sirrus Saddle with shock wobbles

I have a 2008 Specialized Sirrus that has a saddle with a shock below it. The problem is that the seat wobbles left and right up to an inch and I am not sure how that has been affecting my riding. Does anyone have a similar experience or advice?

I had a shock saddle post on my bike when I first bought it and changed it out when it started to wobble. The local bike shop boys told me that these things are next to impossible to repair and cost too much to replace (in my book) so I opted for a good alum. one

My advice is to ditch it and get a normal solid one.

My seat post moves a little, but not that much. My Sirrus is a 2002. Sometimes I think of changing it, because it weighs more than it needs to, I guess, but I might just have to weight until it breaks, which might be never.

get a plain seat post. 27.2mm OD is what you need. You will shave some weight and get a more solid seating position!

Those are great seatposts. They do most everything the more expensive ones do, they just don't look quite as fancy doing it.

anyone know if the measurements (300mm, 350mm, etc.) include the clamp, or just the post?

And, are they adjustable for tilt? The pic and description aren't clear.

I read that too - just not certain if it means it is adjustable for different seat rails, or big "tooth type" angle changes, or a smoother "micro" adjustment. You can't really see the interface in the picture, if one exists.

I really like micro adjustable seat posts, and really deplore suspension seatposts.
