Can sealed hubs be repaired without expensive equipment

I have a set of Rolf Vector Pro wheels for which the rear wheel hub sounds like it needs overhaul. I was under the impression that the hub could not be overhauled and would need to be replaced. Is this true? Thanks!

Sealed hubs are not intended to be serviced I don't think, however I think I've heard of guys using hypodermic needles to inject lube into them.

The Pro's have a cartridge bearing (sealed just implys a cap/cover which shileds the bearing in some way from the elements). Actually the hub is Swiss made, a Hugi I believe. Supposedly one heck of a hub, but noisy.

Any good wrench should be able to service them. Check with your Trek/Lemond dealer, these were original equipment on thier bikes in the late 90's early 00's.

I have the Vector Sports, which were the entry level ones. Cup and cone, service them myself.
