Can feel shift points on right-side shifters, not left-side

My 2001 Bianchi Veloce allows me to shift with recognizable stops when controlling my rear shifts. But the same is not true for my front gears. There's no indication or feedback from the shifters that tells me I've advanced the gear up/down.

Is this normal to have one side with indexed stops, and the other not?

This was normal, to allow for trimming the position of the front cage to match movement of the rear derailler. Now they have a trimming provision in the indexing of front der mechanisms (for Shimano I am not sure about Campi).

Campy doesn't have indexing for the front mech, so you can trim it as needed or swap to a triple with the same lever. If you have a double, and it's upper limit screw is set in the right place, just shift up until it stops, you'll be in the right place. If you have a triple it's just a case of learning where the middle ring is I guess.
