New to the forums and have some questions!
I am a novice to cycling and was considering building a bike. Is this a very difficult/costly undertaking? I have been riding for roughly 4 months and wondered how long most of you took to understand the components you liked for you bike? I was looking at a group of parts including frame and would need to buy cassette, derailers, brake lever and wheelset seperately.

The link doesn't appear to work. It might make more sense reading more before asking these kinds of vague/open-ended questions. You asking people to do a lot of work for you.

I know some parts are missing (wheelset, tires/tube, cassette, derailers, brake levers), but any estimates on the value of the parts in the link. Here's the link...

I am not sure of the frame brand. Not sure what a carbon frame or similar group of parts would go for? Thanks in advance. I am a novice to cycling and was considering building a bike. Is this a very difficult/costly undertaking? Is that a good deal and should I expect to pay a lot more to complete the bike?

Fuzz and Operator are right- a relationship with a good bike shop is invaluable. Figuring out which bike shop can take many months, too- if you're wanting to shorten the learning curve, talk to local bike clubs. Don't stop at just one, either- the people you talk to (including us) will have their own experiences and prejudices. Learning to decide among differing opinions is a good skill to have, IMO.

Buying parts separately does not make sense, unless you are rich. Instead, find a higher end complete bike. You can get some really nice deals out there.
The only time I build a bike is when I have acquired a donor bike first, then I put those parts onto the preferred frame.
