Can 700c wheels support a Shwinn Continental?
hi, I have a old school Schwinn Continental frame from about 1968. Of course it came with 27x1 1/4 wheels. I'm currently looking for a new rear wheel with a flip flop hub. I wanted to know if a 700 c wheel set (32/36) would be strong enough?

Shouldn't be a problem with a well built wheelset.

My tandem has 700c wheels and, trust me, Mrs. Grouch and I together load those wheels more than you by yourself will a single bike. Strength isn't an issue.
What are you planning to use for brakes? Do the ones you have now have enough adjustment range to handle the smaller diameter 700c wheels? If it was my bike, I'd test fit a set of 700c wheels (borrow a pair if you have to) before I paid out the money for a new wheelset.
