Dumonde Tech Lite Lube

I recently put on a new chain, well 2, for the recumbent. I cleaned factory lube out of the chains, then installed them and used Dumonde Tech Lite lube. I am trying it out, 'til now I have been a Pro Link Gold fan. Well, this really is nice lube. The chain is incredibly quiet and smooth. Shifts really well. It's easy to clean the chain at relube time. I like iit.

The only problem; the really foul chemical reek you have to live with until the lube dries. My garage stinks. It might make buying a second bottle pretty tough, when the time comes. Back to Pro Link? Hmmm, we'll see. bk

You just removed the best lube your chain will ever have. It will last between 700 to 1000 miles.

Yeah, I think that chain lube threads should probably all be moved to "Religion and Politics" because people have such strongly held, yet opposite, opinions.

The factory lube on a new chain is should be left alone, that being said, you will like the Dumonde Tech stuff.

I have been "experimenting" with it now for the last 2 years. Yellow in the summer and green in the winter. Only stuff I have been using, and have reordered several times, just wish in came in bottles bigger than 4oz. I even tried the eco-green stuff for the beach house.

Hey all lubes smell a bit, not much you can do about that.

Dumonde = Good stuff.

I like DuMonde Tech. Use the Lite in winter, original in summer. I like the direction from the Rock and Roll lube site. Use until wet and run chain backwards, wiping and cleaning. I just wish I could get it in larger quantities, or find a cheaper thin lube to use during the cleaning process, then finish with the Dumonde

It does have a strong, distinct smell, but I don't mind it. Much more tolerable than cheap perfume.
