Shimano Endbar with SRAM Dual Drive

I am using an indexed Shimano End Bar shifter to operate the internal gears of an SRAM Dual drive. Two clicks per shift works really well. I am wondering if there is any way to make this into a one click system - some way to make it skip a click perhaps. I haven't tried to dissect the shifter yet. I thought I would ask first and see if anyone has done something similar or at least who understands how to take these shifters apart without destroying them.

Thanks - John

Well, I solved this by using a Problem Solvers Travel Agent. The travel agent doubles the pull length on the cable so now one click pulls the same amount of cable as two clicks used to. Here is a picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/professor_john/4363798316/ of the installation. Works if you index the neutral position to the first click on the bar end. Road tested it today on my 45 mile commute and it worked flawlessly after I readjusted the tension a few times the first few miles as the cable "settled in."
