STI shifter problems.

Hi,

My Left STI shifter (Shimano 4500) stopped working.
The shifter is connected to a dualdrive hub. (I've taken the click box on and off a couple times to see if it would help).

The lever when squeezed to operate the front brake works, but when I release the lever, the shifting portion does not quite return to the bar. There's a 5-6mm gap. I can snap it back in place manually but this does not restore shifting.

This is unfortunately a new bike so it's covered by warranty if I have to return it. No crashes. No spills. I looked at the Shimano STI 4500 manual and it doesn't cover this occurence. I'm hoping this is something easy and silly to fix....

Thanks.

Since it's under warranty, take it back to where you got it.

It's a folding bike that wasn't available locally so I ordered from a reputable online dealer.
The dealer isn't sure what's wrong with the shifting and offered to have it picked up so he could look at it,
but I was hoping to save everyone time and money by finding a solution.

Again I'm trying to be optimistic that this could be something silly that can be fixed w/out taking apart the whole shifter!
