A Bit of Play in the Headset
I just swaped out my stock fuji stem for a 10mm shorter Easton EA70. I've noticed just a bit of play in the headset now, but I have no idea if it was there before. Should there be any play? Nothing else was changed except the stem.

Is the new stem any narrower than the old one? Can you see any exposed steerer tube?
There's a chance that the new stem is narrower than the old one, meaning that the top cap can't compress the headset down properly, hence the play.

The steerer tube seems to be at the same exact level as it was with the stock stem.

You were right. I tightened the stem on to the steerer tube before tightening the top cap. This caused the top cap not to be able to compress properly. A quck losening of the stem and tightening of the top cap fixed the problem. Thanks for the quick response.
