8 speed XTR STI Shifters with Cable Disc Brakes

I ended up getting a front suspension fork that doesn't have v-brake studs and was curious if it was possible to use Avid Cable Disc brakes with the Current 8 Speed XTR STI shifters/Brake Combo? I believe this is the M900 versions. If not, any recommendations?
