New San Marco Rolls Saddle

Does the San Marco Rolls need any special preperation before installation like Brooks Saddles?
Thanks,

The "new" new Rolls saddles have a synthetic cover. The "Vintage" Rolls, the ones with "Vintage" on the box are leather. I've never had a problem with the leather cracking, but I store my bike indoors and rarely ride in the rain. I went ahead and applied a coat of Obenauf's (the best, end of conversation) wax to my leather versions.

They use Lorica for many of their colored Rolls models, Regal, and others. I have a black one that is definitely not leather. I got it directly from the manufacturer as a replacement for a defective one. On the underside of the nose where it's glued, I can see how the cover is a smooth, thin, outerskin laminated over a thicker synthetic. I couldn't find another black Lorica saddle from an internet search, just white Ti ones.
I have an idea they switched to synthetic for the colored models because the colored leather would quickly wear away to a rough, grey color.

The one with the steel rails are covered with the synthetic material called Lorica, while the titanium rail Rolls are covered with leather.
