Gasket for Park Tools Pump?
I'm looking for just the gasket, part #1087 for a Park PFP-3 floor pump. You can buy a "rebuild kit" for about $15 delivered, but that includes the head, and you can probably score one of these cheap pumps new for not much more than that.
In searching on Google, I notice that a few shops in the UK sell just the gasket. I find that encouraging. Are there any outlets on this side of the Atlantic?
Bottom line, I hate to toss a tool that can be fixed with a $2 part, but I'm not going to spend more than the freaking thing is probably worth to fix it, either.

Why don't you email or call Park? They've been very good about getting back to me quickly. From what I've heard about their customer service, they may very well send you the part you need for free.

Thanks, that's a good idea. The pump hasn't seen much use so I'm disappointed that it failed through pretty minimal, normal use. If I share that disappointment with Park (I have plenty of their other tools), perhaps you're right and they'll send me a new gasket.
I did buy a Topeak Joe Blow Pro when this one cashed it in. Big difference in both build quality and functionality. I'd like to fix the Park up and give it to my daughter to take back to college.

Within an hour, I got the following message from Park Tool:
"Hello. Sorry about the problem. We will send the part from here."
Man, I love the Internets.

They mailed me the whole rebuild kit (head and gasket) at no charge. I think that's pretty decent. I wasn't going to spend $15 on the kit, so they kept their pump alive for a few more fills, I guess. It's not a bad pump when it works, I guess, although the Joe Blow Pro I bought when this one crapped out kind of blows the Park right out of the water.

I put in the new parts and it still didn't work. Since I could hear air leaking out of somewhere, I put the base of the pump into a bucket of water and depressed the piston. Air came bubbling out of the connection that holds the base of the pump to the cylinder body. There's a flimsy pressure gasket that fits into the base assembly and is held together with a plastic screw-on fitting (just like a plumbing drain, if you can picture that). I guess that gasket is shot. It wasn't part of the "rebuild" kit. I put a bead of tub & tile silicone calk around the seal and screwed the assembly back together and let it set up overnight. Now it works like a charm. It's still a POS design and build if you want my opinion, but it's good to have a backup in the unlikely event that the Joe Blow ever fails.
