Repacking grease in 04 XT BB cups
These cranks have been working great so far, but I'm concerned about the possible failure of the bearings due to contaminates or lack of grease. Does anybody know how to take these apart?
Thanks,
Dave

It is a sealed unit. Once it gets to the point where it feels gritty, it needs to be replaced. Fortunately, it is well sealed, and should have a relatively long lifespan. In addition, BBs are not expensive.

Yeah, I just heard that the many bearing failures occuring with the XTR M960 was due to insufficient grease. So some folks have been repacking the bearings despite the fact they are sealed and non-serviceable. So if someone could tell me how to do it, I think it would be worth checking. Otherwise I really don't want to ruin them, they are working great so far.
