I have such a system on one of my folders. Sachs duomatic hub-a 2 speed kickback with overdrive and coaster brake. The bike has a 100T beltring and 30T sprocket with 12 inch tires. 59 GI high, 42 GI low. Works reasonably well as far as a folder bike is concerned.

Retrofiting a bike for belt drive is a long and lengthy process, and usually involves cutting on your frame. That being said, there is nothing that should stop the proper frame from using a belt driven coaster brake, assuming parts are available.

In deference to the fuzz, mine was not a retrofit but the belt drive was OEM. My bike has only one pair of horizontal stays extending just aft the seat tube-my frame is a rectangular when unfolded. It is an Aero brand. If clearing the chain(belt) stays is the issue, my BB is a little forward of where the seat stay meets the horrizontal bottom tube giving more clearance for the larger diameter ring.

the Mu series by dahon is chainstay-less, so a good candidate for a retrofit... just couldnt see myself going for an Abio, ive heard they are sub-par

Check the clearances at the rear. I was just looking at a SS 29er MTB with belt drive at the LBS and the rear belt cog is BIG and wide compared to a normal chain cog. The bike is fitted with the Gates belt drive.
