Pinstripe/letter over factory clear coat? Will it stick?

Put together my homemade custom https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...frame-bad-idea (see today's post)

I have a couple of sign artists whose have lettered race cars for me, one of my cars, the taillgate of my truck and do signs at my shop. So far (two years) the art work on the back of my Honda Civic hybrid has not flaked off. Is the clear coat on my e-bay carbon fiber frame likely to be any different? All that Greg did when he painted the Honda was clean the area and get out his brushes.

I am champing at the bit to personalize this bike graphics-wise and already have ideas on what I want them to do.

They use sign painter's enamel -- I guess. A little bit of it flaked off the aluminum panel on the tailgate of my pickup, but nothing that couldn't be touched up easily. Their paint holds pretty well on my 1/4 mile dirt oval track race cars.

Your bike's paint and clear coat is the same sort of stuff used on your car, so whatever works on your car will work on your bike.

Ive gone to one of the vinyl sign shops with logos that I have recreated and had them cut out the logos and always worked for me. Just make sure that the sizes are correct.

My sign artist just lettered a bike for Lance Armstrong. He says his paint has additives such that it WILL adhere to the clear coat.
