Removing bottom link arm from Santa Cruz Blur Classic

Hi, I'm following the Santa Cruz instructions to overhaul the bearings of my SC Blur Classic. I've come unstuck trying to remove the bottom link arm (pictured) from the bearing shaft closest to the bottom bracket. I have the necessary tools, but because of the alumninium I'm a tad cautious to proceed further until the lower link arm has been removed. Help appreciated.

You need to tap out the pivot axle(with a M6 bolt), then remove the bearings(with the bearing press tool).

Thanks. the pivot axle is already removed. Are you suggesting that the extraction of the bearings occurs when the lower link is still in place?

Doubt it. The instructions do not mention any technique for removing the link aside from removing the axle. I have actually rebuilt one of these linkages before, but I don't remember having an issue with removing the lower link. I would probably ask a dealer or the company at this point. Sorry, man...

thanks for the advice SC! It was exactly that... I was being a wuss. Bottom link removed, new bearings in, aligned... all I need now are the right spacers for the new rp2 shock to fix to the frame. Any idea where I can obtain them?

to be precise, the front shock axle is 8.5mm in diameter (1/3 inch), yet the spacers that came with the fox rp2 is 6.5mm (1/4 inch). I could machine them down, but it would be better to get the proper spec'd parts. I might add, i have the same issue with the fixing of the rear shock axle to the shock. Any help on where to obtain these ellusive parts would be a God send. thanks again.

Mojo suspension out of the UK is the best I've found. I think they carry all the small parts. Glad you got it figured out!
