Just got a new CAAD9 and have a few mechanical questions....
Hello I just got a new 09 CAAD 9 road bike with a compact 105 group, which is replacing an older roadbike which had a 2 x 8 speed 105 groupset. I just got back from the first proper ride on the new bike and I have a few questions?
Wheels:
Are the WS-RS10 hubs loud? There is some bearing noise, is this normal for a new set of wheels?
Bottom bracket:
Are the bottom brackets never smooth like silk, I am finding these small vibrations which I have been observing in my older bikes, but I always thought this was due to wear, so is it?
Front shifter:
Is it normal to have to click twice to get from the bigger to the smaller chain ring?
Is it normal for the left brifter to be stiffer than the right one?
All help is highly appreciated!

Also yes, the left brifter has more resistance. Perhaps the wire has be tensioned more (the front shift is mechanically more difficult for the derailleur than the rear shift).

Thanks!
I spent the first half of my ride adjusting the shifters, I got the dérailleur working nicely, but as I tensioned the front wire with the barrel adjusters, the resistance of the front brifter increased by a great margin, I thought I might be making it pull over the limit screw, and thus making the brifter to wear out immaturely...

If the left side needs to be super-stiff to work right, consider that the limits on the derailer and/or the direction its mounted could use some slight tweaking. Its tighter than the rear shifter, but not by a huge amount.
The extra click is trim- you shouldn't need it except to get the derailer off the chain in the very top gear or two.
I don't recall the hubs on the 9-5 to be super-loud, but it might just be because so many hubs these days are so loud....
I don't know what to say about the bottom bracket from across the internet. Could be something simple, like a little lube, or vibration from off the chain or something.
