finding the right BB cup tool
I have a bottom bracket which I need to service, and I'm trying to be absolutely sure that I order the correct tool. here's a picture of the BB, and the two tools I've narrowed it down to. any idea which one is the right one?
something is telling me that Amazon is just trying to mess with my mind.

ISIS=International Splined Interface Standard. The ISIS tool is for splined bottom brackets, the other for square taper ones like yours.

Get this one instead, it's the industry standard tool for this purpose:

I like that bit "secures seat to frame with any style padlock (padlock not included)". Sure nice to have additional features in your bb cup tool
Like Hillrider says, although I like the Park BBT-2/BBT-22 (not the BBT-32) to give you the option of using a 3/8" drive as well as a wrench on the outside flats. Hard to tell, but looks like it might be one or the other with the Avenir tools...

Either tool fits your lockrings. The lock ring spline is the same whether it's ISIS or older Shimano square taper. the difference is that ISIS came later and it was necessary to bore out the ID to accommodate the larger spindle.
For your BB it doesn't matter, but unless there's a premium, you might as well buy an ISIS compatible one so it'll have more utility in the future.
