interchanging chainrings?
i had a set of sugino triple chainrings, and the outer ring broke a few teeth in an accident. i have a shimano SG chainring laying around of the same tooth count and BCD... can i just slap that on and keep riding? is it generally okay to mix chainring brands? or are the varying ramping teeth/pins/etc going to be all mixed up and make a mess of things?

The ramps and pins may not match up perfectly but the shifting should still be pretty good. Yes, as long as the BCD is the same, substitute at will.

I haven't had any huge issues with shifting.
