Wheel Building advice

Hi There,

I am getting a new wheel built. It is a Shimano dh-t665 dyamo disc hub with 160mm center lock rotor, a Mavic XM117 disc 26' rim and whatever spokes the builder puts in. My current wheel is a disc brake wheel with and iso 160mm 6 bolt rotor. My question is: Will the existing disc brakes work with the new setup? Does the rotor being 6 bolt or center lock matter? I would assume not, since, if so, what the f*@$!? The bottom line is, i don't know for a fact.

Any clarification welcome. Many thanks.

You'll likely need to adjust the position of the brake caliper but otherwise, it should work fine. By "adjust" I just loosen the mounting bolts, clamp the caliper on the rotor, and retighten the bolts, to align the caliper with the rotor.
