Anyone tape up their Ergon bar end grips?

I have the R2 100% Magnesium on my utility bike and find them a bit too hard. If you have them you know that the bar end curves to a point. Just curious and would like to see your technique if you taped them up or did something else.

(I know tape would of course cover up the allen bolt and quick adjustability. But I find once set, I leave them alone.)

Thanks
