tape on full carbon/integrated handlebars?

Silly question I'm sure, but do you tape a set of high end full carbon integrated handlebar/stem? They have a flat top, with graphics that nearly reach the outside corners. Do you tape only to that bend rather than 3/4 of the way across the top like traditional bars?

Some carbon bard have a flat 'handle' shape built into the bar top, and most of the people I have seen with these do not tape the handle portion... but some of them do.

My recommendation: Try taping only to the bend first... if you think you would prefer having tape on the top, tape it too... it's your bike, so do what you like.

I would think having the tape end at the bend would be a prime place for the tape to come unraveled and messed up. I ride with my hands just above the hood, on the bends quite a bit. I'll have to take a look at the bars when they show up to make a determination.

I'm already planning on putting some bedazzled tassels on the end caps...because they are my bars and I do what I like.

But I was just curious what the "standard" is since this will be my first pair of bars with the flat handle and fancy pants set up.

Good for you.
Beware, those tassels tickle your knees something feirce.
I reccomend Bayer knee cream to prevent chaffing.

Enjoy
