Spinergy Rev-X Wheel bearing play

I've read all the historical posts on the Rev-X's, and I'd wish I'd see those posts before I bought...oh, well. So, now that I have them, perhaps someone can help me on adjustment for my rear wheel bearings. If you're familiar with wheels, I turn one of the cone nuts down to take the bearing play out of the rear axle, and then tighten the lock nut to hold the adjustment. When I mount the wheel, and check the lateral play, it's fine...no movement, and the wheel spins freely.

After a ride, there's at least a 1/4" of lateral play, and no matter how many times I repeat the process, and ensure that the lock nut is tight, it eventually will loosen and allow lateral play.

Am I overlooking something? Am I doing this the wrong way, or is this just a problem with these wheels, and a reason to get them onto Ebay quickly.....:-)

Thanks in advance for your help.

I didn't know you could adjust them in anyway, I have rev-x's and have had no problem with them.
