Regular maintanance

I've been riding about 220 miles per month, at the begining of the season (early May), and again today I spent a few hours cleaning and lubing my bike, and also had my bike shop adjust the breaks today as well. I don't feel confident enough to take the bike components apart so I clean them with everything intact, and it takes time but it's a labor of love. My question is how often should this be done, I only ride on paved roads, but sometimes after a rain the roads are wet, and I plan on upping my riding to 300 miles per month.
Thanks
Paul

I remove my chain every 500 to 600 miles. Clean and lube it.
