30.2 headset in 30.0mm head tube

Hello,

I was wondering if I could put a iso headset into a jis headtube. I have an iso fork so the crown race will fit just fine. It should right? The difference is only .2 mm. The headset is aluminum while the frame is steel.
Thanks.

you could try sanding it down a little. Hold the sand paper in your hand, and twist the cup back and forth, just a little bit at a time.

when you try and put JIS fork back into the frame, you'll find that the cups don't require a tool to put back in.
but if you don't intend to, no problem with doing that.
