Full fender mounting with rack(only one eyelet)
What would be the best way to mount a full fender and a rack,onto a specialized rock hopper with only one eyelet.
I have the rack already mounted. The bike is for commuting so i need the full rack for panniers, and i'd like to use full fenders(like the freddy's).
Maybe a nylon tie for the fenders?

Nylon tie might work if you have a mechanical tightener for the ties. Hand tightened
would be problematic (noisy). I assume the fender attaches in the front to the
bridge between the chainstays just behind the BB and via a wire bridge with formed
eyelets to the frame eyelets with a bolt. So is the problem the second wire bridge
with no attach points? Not long enough to reach the existing eyelets? One possibility
would be a piece of 1/16 or so al strap say 0.5" wide and long enough to reach the
other wire bridge from the fender. Drill hole in one end big enough for the bolt through
the eyelet to go through, bolt it on there and run it forward for the other eyelet to
attach to another hole. It might have to be formed a little to go around the seat stay
but thin al is easily bent. Steve

Yet another glory of the "$hitty" el cheapo Walmart bikes. PLENTY of attachment points.
My suggestion witht he aluminim strap steel has already been made...
You could also weild a new eyelet onto the frame

Back in the good old days of Peugeot UO-8s, which had one eyelet at the back on each side (unthreaded, so I used a nut with an nylon insert - never would vibrate loose), I used longer screws, mounting the rack legs closest to the frame and using a flat washer on the outside of the fender wire. Survived several thousand miles of fully loaded touring with no troubles.
