Help replacing BB cable guide.
I just got my hands on a beautiful 2000 Klein Quantum Pro, but I need to replace the BB cable guide.
I read that is it ok to cut the little bridges over the top of each channel so I don't have to pull out the entire cable. But it this ok to do?
Or should I bite the bullet and pull the cable ends and pull them all the way back?

The cables aren't old.
The bike has had new 2007 Dura Ace groupo added a few years ago and the cables look in great condition still. The bike hasn't been ridden much the past 2 years also, so it is in great condition apart from the BB cable guide.
By pull the cables, I meant take off the cable ends, pull them all the way back and refeed them through.

Ahh, i thought so.
When searching online I came to a blog where they said to just cut off the bridge and slip the cables over it.

Thanks for the advice, i guess the saying it true, if you're going to do something, you might as well do it properly!
Although when I had the cables off I realised they had both snapped a single thread of wire at the guide.
I will have to replace the cables soon, probably this weekend I guess.
Here's an after shot, you can see that the cable up to the front derailleur now clears the paint. And I need to buy a new bolt as the new guide didn't include one, maybe tomorrow I will go back to the shop and get a new bolt. I hate rust! Why don't they better protect the cable down there???
