another tire sizing question.
I have a 2004 Trek 1500 with Bontrager Select Rims. It came with 700x25 Bontrager Select tires. My question is if I can put 700x23 tires these rims? I can't seem to find any documention on the subject.
Here is a link to the rims:

Thanks!

Yes you can use the 23's; here is a scale: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html Just scroll down till you find the chart with red and green in it, just know your rim width.

OK, newbie question and probably a silly one that will get a good chuckle. What are the two numbers in the tire sizes supposed to bean? 700x23? 700x25? Just wondering. Thanks for your help.

The 23 and 25 are the nominal width of the tire in mm.
Often there are also markings on the tire in the form yyy-xx where yyy is the bead diameter and xx is is the width - example 622-23
