Gear problem

Hello all,
I have experienced a problem today with my bicycle (Specialized Allez Road Racer)
Each time I am in a gear, usually higher than the 2/3 one, it keeps changing gears while pedaling, automatically.
This problem I guess was guessed by a minor fall which occured today.
If it keeps shifting gears, without me doing so, is it a major problem... and more importantly can it be fixed (sorry for the lack of lingo )

visually inspect your rear derailluer and the hanger (the part where it's attached to the frame) to see if it's bent. if it is, i suggest you have a shop either replace the hanger or straighten it. (sometimes you just have to replace it)

hard to say that's the problem, but since you say you went down, it sounds like you may have hit the derailluer which will cause the gears to jump around in a few places.

And if the hanger wasnt bent, would it mean something simple has gone wrong with the derailluer?
