Dura Ace 7400 and SRAM Rival?

Does anyone know if my DA 7400 cranks would work with SRAM Rival? seems like a silly question, even to me, but i absolutely adore these cranks. Theyre stiiff, reasonably light, and quite attractive (to me anyway).

Im pretty much emotionally attached to these cranks. It would be great if someone knew, or knew where i should start looking!

If the BCD match, then it's fine. I have 7400DA also, and it has standard 130mm BCD (on compact I don't know but I guess it's also standard 110mm)

(I assume that you want the DA cranks with SRAM chainrings)

chain wont care, about competing brand names, the common standard, rollers remain 1/2" centers between the pins.

a 10 chain is slightly narrower than a 9 chain, 9 chain narrower than an and 8&7 type.

so crank for 10 assumes you use the slightly narrower chain and will be slightly different, but not much.

I think you have 500 bike shops in Portland
you could get 1000 opinions if you ask in them all..

Cheers !

10 speed spacing is different, e.g narrower to support the narrower chain. Your 7400 stuff is 8 speed. Will it work? Maybe. Go try it, you have nothing to lose. Worse is that that shift performance suffers greatly or the chain will rub on the outer ring in more cog combos than normal.

Thanks! youre all very helpful!

I just dont really like the FSA Gossamer cranks that come on the Fuji Roubaix 1.0, I really dont understand why its so difficult using Rival cranks and brakes, haha

On that note, would it be worth upgrading the tektro brakes to Rival?

Tryin to plan it so i can spend my money all at once! ;D

I wouldn't bother upgrading the brakes until the tektros fail. They are good value set of calipers, but they work fine with good pads.

P.S Do not buy the gossamers, they don't shift very well even when setup 100% perfectly.

I heard the Gossamers arent very stiff either. Im not buying them, but they come on the 2010 Fuji Roubaix 1.0 that im trying to get

Have you thought of talking to your priest about your attachment to a bicycle crank?

The 7400 Cranks are artwork!
