Porsche or VW??? Cannondale or Giant???
 

I am trying to buy a new but used road bike .
I could buy a 10 year old Cannondale in good shape , equipped with Campagnole for $550
or
a Giant OCR 2, Shimano Tiagra, prop 2-3 years old for $550

Help me please...I am not sure>>>

You did not provide enough info for anyone to give you an educated opinion. What is the condition of the two bikes and their components? How much wear and tear does each have? What level of Campagnolo components?

Cannondale and Giant both make decent frames.

If it were me and all things between the two bikes being relatively equal I would choose the Campy equiped bike but I am partial to Campy. Campy tends to be rebuildable where as Shimano tends to only be replaceable.

But there are a lot of variables in making this decision.

You're the one who suggested the car comparison. So what kind of car do you own? If it's an older Porsche, get the Cannondale because it'll have more panache. If it's a newer VW, buy the Giant because it'll probably be more reliable.

SuseM14, Putting my preference for Cannondale aside, pick the one that fits the best. Unless looking for a specific brand/model, buying a preowned bicycle depends on the seller's care and maintenance.

Tiagra is one of the lower rank of Shimano's parts lines.

Campagnolo company has several price points of their component offerings, too,
but I don't know that un offered information .

More research needed , do get back when you can describe all the parts that may have been installed..

Of course, unlike a Porsche or VW on a bike the engine is You, not exploding gasoline.
