    S2C vs. B2C Sturmey Kickback 2 speeds

Any difference besides the weight and price of the steel vs. Aluminum?
How are these in durability relative the Sachs & Bendix kickbacks?
Are there 3/32 cogs available for these hubs (I see the S3X has 13T 3/32 cogs)?

The S2C weighs 1400 grams. The steel B2C weighs 10 grams less at 1390. The brakeless S2 weighs 930 grams. They all use the same cog as the AW, so you can get the full range of cogs in both 1/8" and 3/32" widths. The chrome Shimano cogs also fit.

The specifications for all of the new hubs are on the Sturmey-Archer site.

Sturmey sez it's a new design. They were introduced on the market a few weeks ago.

Any idea why the less expensive steel version would weigh less than the aluminum version?
Is there something extra in the aluminum version that makes it weight more?

A steel hub shell can be made with thinner walls due to greater material strength. Also the aluminum hub shell undoubtedly has various steel inserts including a steel ring gear inside the shell. After all the difference in weight is only 10 grams, about 1/3 ounce or less than 1% of the total weight. Basically they are very close to identical weight.
