TIME's stem cap removal. How**********
OK, so I am trying to pack my bike for a trip and I can't get the darn cap off the stem to get the stem out. Yes, I did loosened up the stem already and tried to pry the cap off, but it is not coming out easily. I don't want to force it in case it just "doesn't pop out".
Anyone has any ideas how this things comes off??
I looked in the TIME's website and their manual, but there is nothing there that I can see to go by. Need help with this ASAP.

Just checking, did you remove the bolt in the center of the cap?

No center bolt. That would have been too easy.

Time uses a different system than the standard top cap and bolt. Here's a link to the manual. (it's a big file) The info on the stem and fork is near the bottom (page 48)
Hope it helps

Thanks for the link. I had looked at that already. It seems from that manual that it simply slips in and out when the stem is loose, but this one is tight as a mofo. Luckily, I was able to fit the bike on the case without taking the stem off by simply taking the bars off. Thanks anyway. I do appreciate the help.

I installed one of these recently, so I can confirm that it does just slip right in there quite easily. Instead of using the headset adjustment to push it out a bit, I would think that a little wiggling of the stem (after the bolts are loose) would be able to push it up a little, which would then allow you to get underneath to pry it off easily.
