I've googled this compatibiity question about tubes and tires...

Can't seem to find my answer. If someone with knowledge could help I would appreciate it.

I am a newbie, but I want to learn because I enjoy riding.

My tires are 26" x 1.35. Are 26x1.5/1.75 Tubes compatible with these tires?

Thank you for your help. I already love this site.

Thanks!

TID

That's a little large- they'll be a little harder to install, and you run a slightly greater chance of catching the tube between the tire and the rim, which would lead to a blowout. A better choice would be 26 x.1.25", which is tougher to find, but will make installation easier.

Tubes are only air sacs, so they inflate to fill the tires, but a decent approximate fit is best. I always look for the bigges tube that's smaller than the tire, so it'll be easier to stuff, yet not get stretched too thin when inflated.

Try to found yourself a 26x1.25 tube, or something thereabouts.

Short answer, no. Do yourself a favor, and buy smaller tubes. I bought some sized properly for my 26 1.25 slicks at Nashbar.
