Sticky rear DT Swiss Tandem 540 Hub
 

I have tried searching this problem but have only found one reference. Perhaps you can help. The rear hub, cassette is sticky and the chain slacks on the top, dangerously so. In fact on our latest tour we had to keep pedalling the entire time to avoid the chain slap on top and the chain getting stuck in the wheel. I took apart the hub and lubed. It worked for a short while, but as soon as we added weight the sticky hub problem reappeared. So....What do I do now? Is the hub shot, or is there a method to rebuild or relube the hub to avoid the sticky situation. I have gone to the DT Swiss site and have the pdf file. Any help is appreciated.

hey h, i too use the 540 on my cdale tdem. not as bad as yours , but not like cup and cone hubs im used to . if you figure out a fix , kindly e-mail and share , btw , i already replaced the axle , got bent in a year ..:(
