105 Shifters Compatible with SRAM RD?

Are 105 shifters compatible with SRAM rear derailleurs or do SRAM derailleurs need to be matched to SRAM shifters?

SRAM road rear derailleurs are not compatible with Shimano shifters. They use a different cable pull ratio.
