Cable housings interchangability.

Can I substitute a 21" piece of the Campy record front derailler shifter cable housing for a brand that my LBS will carry? The Campy housing kinked bad and frayed when the bike was shipped. I ordered the Campy housing and cables kit on the net but lo and behold they are on backorder. Two effin weeks.(Nice if the site would tell you that before ordering, but that would be too good to be true, huh.

Generic housing usually works.

Yeah, housing is housing really. I've used a few different brands/grades with zero difference in performance over an extended period of time. I usually change my housings once a year though so its possible I'm not letting them "fully wear out".
