Snapping noise from pedal set ????

I have been getting a snapping noise and when I grab my pedals with my hands there is slop in the crankshaft.

ZDoes this mean a bad bearing or is there a way to tighten this ??

Its a Fuji crosstown hybrid with about 1000 miles on it

Please check READ THIS at the head of the forum. You need to provide more info and I also suggest you look up a bicycle diagram on Google so you can use and understand the proper terminology. In brief, that kind of noise calls for more than an adjustment, takes proper specialized tools and knowledge to fix.
