DA FD / Ultegra shifter compatibility

So I note that the new DA FD lists itself as not requiring trim in the big ring. This is cool, I think to myself, they must have figured out the geometry.

I then turn to my big Shimano book that I just picked up at InterBike and they don't show the DA 7900 FD being compatible with the 6700 shifters or any other shifters for that matter.

I understand that the 7900 shifters don't have big ring trim, while the others do, but that shouldn't matter.

Any reason WHY the 6700 shifters wouldn't work with the DA FD?

Thanks,

-Z
