hydraulic front brake squeaking noise!

hello
this is my first time owning a set of Hayes Nine hydraulic disc brake on my Marin. Everytime I brake with the front brake it squeaks when I squeeze it hard, but when I squeeze is soft it won't make the noise only when I'm close to a complete stop it would squeak again. I had thess brakes since like may, I dont think I need new brake pads already since I use the back a lot more than the front and the rear HASN'T made once noise whatsoever! Please give me some advice! thank you!

Hey, just make sure the brake rotors are totally clean. You can use rubbing acohol or speed clean on them. Just spay it on a clean paperowel or lint free rag and clean off the rotors. The key is using a cleaner that doesn't leave any residue. Rotor specific brake cleaners work the best. If your front pads got contaminated at any time (with oil, mud, grease) or the like, you may have to replace the pads. New pads also require a bit of break in time.

the only fix is to try new pads. some disc squeek this is normal. unlike vbrakes that would be adjusted wrong.

I had that issue with my Shimano break pads and I switched to Kool-Stop pads and it never happened again. Kool-Stop makes types of pads for different conditions; I am using the one for Wet/muddy conditions and they seem to work great in all conditions.
