Storing Seatposts at Shop

How do you guys in shops store seatposts? Slatwall hooks just tear the packaging and they get disorganized. I am planning to build a box that would store them standing up vertically in a grid pattern. I just wanted to see if there was a better way I hadn't heard.

your box idea sound good to me. any shop i have work at just lay them down on a shelf or inside a box and yes they get very disorganized.
