Tiagra FD brifter doesn't appear to have barrel adjustment for slight cable slack?

My Tiagra brifter, Tiagra FD has been gradually getting so that in the 50 chain ring, I am getting fd rub in the 11 and 12 tooth gears.
Makes sense that the cable has slightly loosened as Im fairly certain its not the "high" limit screw as this hasnt been a prob before, no crashes or etc.

Am I missing something but it doesnt seem to me that there is a simple barrel adjuster to take up the slack, so I loosened the allen key bolt holding the cable to the fd and manually pulled it more (after putting the fd on the granny) Basically, because I had to muck back and forth getting the proper position, I have tightened and retightened the cable enough times that I will most likely replace the cable, not liking the look of the squashing and resquashing ive done.

I did look inside the Tiagra brifter and didnt seem to see any barrel adjuster thingee. Am I right in thinking that there really isnt any way to micro adjust the cable on the fd? When it pulls the fd a bit too much, or just a bit too little, you get into rubbing problems, and the diff is very small for the cable position.

any suggestions? I realize that I should follow the rule of how to install a new cable, with the chain in the granny and on the largest cassette cog before tightening the allen key for the cable on the fd--I guess really all I want ot know is if I follow what I just described, am I going to have to re-fiddle with the cable "length" at the fd again. Its really this that I want to avoid as I really dont like the idea of repeatedly smurshing the cable as I change its position.

thanks in advance

STI shifters don't come with built in adjusters. It relies on either

a) spliced in 'in-line' adjusters
b) frame stop, barrel adjusters

You sound like you have neither.

One is easier to install than the other. Use your powers of deductive thinking to see which one is viable for you.

merci le haitien de T.O.

I think I'll just use my powers of deduction to buy a new cable and use the old one to test out stuff before I mash the new one.

à la prochaine ti cul
