Indoor storage racks?

Sorry if this isn't the right forum for this. I'm looking for an indoor storage rack to stand against the foot of my bed and hold two bikes, one on top of the other. It can't be too deep, as space is an issue (this is in a dorm room).

So far I'm looking at this:

https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=6600

and this:

https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=6600

Can anyone speak for either one, or is there something else I should be looking at?

I think you will need to use the second one. The first is meant to lean against the wall. It is hard to do bike storage that doesn't use a lot of space, get someone to hold the bikes in the air where you want to put them to give you a better idea of the space involved.

My son has a wooden one that leans against the wall. Very similar to the first one but I think cost a bit more. It works fine and also has pegs for hanging helmets, jacket etc.

The wall leaning types take up less floor space and they position the bikes closer to the wall. you can tack them to the wall for extra stability.

But the advantage of the floor standing types is you can put them in front of a window or freestand in the middle of a room. That can be an advantage if the only available space is not against a solid wall.

These two are a bit cheaper. Purchased mine about a month ago. It doesn't need to lean against a wall when loaded, but if you remove the bikes, it will tip over its center of gravity.

That first one looks very much like the one I bought from Brookstone last week. I'm expecting delivery any day now. I'll post my review when I get it.

Dorm room bike storage isn't easy. My favorite solution is to raise up your bed on some kind of support and store the bikes under it.

I go this rack a few months ago and I love it. It'll hold two bikes one above the other, it leans against the wall, so it doesn't take up much room at all and it is very light, but strong. The price is right too compared to most of the ones out there. Check it out. I have a mt. bike and road bike on mine and it holds up fine.

I think this one telescopes and will work anywhere with a fixed ceiling:
