    shimano cb-110 hub, .08g versus .105g

    hi. quick question re: these old coaster brake hubs...

    I'm figuring that the "g" refers to the gauge of the spokes? i know these can take some dookie-fat spokes, and i'm assuming the .08g is for the really thick spokes, like worksman uses? and the .105g is for normal 2.0/14g spokes?

    No. "80 gauge" (0.08" diameter) is the same as commonly available 2.0mm/14 gauge spokes. "105 gauge" (0.105" diameter) is the same as 2.5mm/12 gauge spokes. Remember that for wire gauges, the smaller numbers designate larger diameters.
