Campy help! Need to replace cone in 8 speed Chorus rear hub- part availablity?
Hi,
I know what I need (Campy part FH-RE110, press fit cone), but I can't seem to find a vendor that has one in stock. Is there a GO-TO distributor that stocks these things? I'm a bit worried that I have a rear hub that might not be repariable. Is it possible that this part is no longer manufactured? Thanks for any tips you might have.

Visit Yellowjersey.org I'm fairly certain they have one. If you don't see it on the site, phone or email an inquiry.

Thanks for the responses. No success on either site using the part number in a search. I'll email Yellow Jersey

I have a parts hub of that vintage. The part you are looking for is there and is in OK condition but has 1 very tiny mark on the bearing surface that will probably turn into a pit at some point. You can have it for $1 if it helps.

Pbmiata, glad you were able to find one (or two, I guess.) How do you get those things off, to replace them? Just curious, since I have a couple of those hubs and wondered what I'd do when that cone starts to wear.

Conspiratemus1,
The problem with my cone was that it is loose on it's axle. It is supposed to be a press fit. I removed it by clamping the axle vertically in a woodworker's vice. Took a LARGE adjustable wrench and adjusted it down to where it matched the axle diameter. Laid the wrench against the cone (wrench has nice flat sides that provided a lot of bearing area against the end of the cone) Gave it a rap with a hammer and the cone dropped off.
I am holding off on buying a replacement as the cone is still a fairly tight fit- it can be made to rotate on the axle which is not good, but it has not yet worn a sizable splace between it and the axle. I'll try "gluing" in onto the axle with some Loctite 609, a product made pretty much for this purpose. If I can get it firm enough that it does not slip or exhibit any "slop" I'll be happy. Thanks!
