Convert Octalink V1 to Hollowtech II for a Dura-Ace 7900 crank
Another question on a bike I am helping to upgrade:
It is a 2004 Trek 5200 with a Octalink V1 bottom bracket, Ultegra double crank, 53/39.

We are wanting to put a Dura-Ace FC-7900 crank on it so obviously the BB won't work as is.
Can a Dura-Ace 7900 Hollowtech II bottom bracket (SM-BB7900B) a direct screw in replacement into this frame? (If not that exact one, is there a BB that I can put in this frame to accept the FC-7900 crank?)
Any other gotcha's I need to be aware of?

Your Trek has standard English bottom bracket threading so all you have to do is remove the Octalink bb completely and thread in the DA (or Ultegra or 105) external bearing cups and install the crank.
The only "gotcha" may be if the bottom bracket shell isn't faced accurately and the crank spindle doesn't align easily when you install it. In that case any decent LBS will be able to face the shell to correct it.
