chain tensioners
im running a mavic deetrax which has an axle bolt instead of a quick release. the dmr chain tensioner is set up to be used with a QR. is it possible for me to drill out the tensioner to accommodate an axle bolt? or does someone make a tensioner for the setup id be running? thanks.

The axle bolt should have enough holding power to do without the chain tensioner entirely. Folks have been riding track bikes for decades without needing tensioners including top sprinters who put tremendous loads into the chains. Give it a try without the tensioner and see how you make out. If you get slippage, then you can try to figure out your options, but why do that until/unless you have to.

FBinNY, the DMR chain tensioner seems to be the type to take up chain slack, for using a bike with vertical dropouts as a single speed, rather than the kind that prevents the axle from slipping in horizontal dropouts.
I'd suggest just buying a new tensioner. If the DMR doesn't work, buy one that screws into the derailer hanger. There are hundreds to choose from.

Hijack alert...
What about a an old RD as a tensioner?
I have heard about removing a jockey wheel when they are useed for this application. Is that a good idea?
